What’s New About the Upgraded MaxPlus MTP Cooler®

The all-in-one cooler for Mass Transfusion Protocol requests features a new detachable cart. The cooler design has a purpose-built connection that engages directly with the cart frame and secures via a dedicated locking mechanism.

• A more secure connection. The cooler engages directly with the cart frame and locks into place, designed to reduce the risk of cart separation during transport.
• No mounting screws. The new locking connection does not use screws, addressing feedback about mounting hardware loosening on the previous cart.
• Stable on the move. The cart frame supports the cooler from behind while it rolls.
• Simple to roll. Once secured, staff extend the telescoping handle, tilt the cooler onto its wheels, and pull it like a rolling case.
• Detaches when you need it to. Without mounting screws, the cooler disconnects from the cart more easily, and the lid opens normally with the cart attached for loading and unloading.

The MTP Cooler Continues To Be A Turn-Key Solution

The cooler is constructed using high-performance, engineered materials, resulting in a light, durable, and easy-to-clean unit. With a coolant divider in the main compartment of the cooler and an external platelet pouch on the lid, the MTP Cooler replaces three coolers per MTP request. The system is qualified to maintain red blood cells (1-6°C), warm or chilled plasma (1-6°C), and platelets (20-24°C) together in a single integrated cooler for up to 12 hours. Standardized packaging protocols minimize staff training and are easy to implement network-wide. The cooler streamlines daily blood bank operations and optimizes efficiency to improve response times.
