Hospital emergency rooms and pediatric intensive care units across the country are seeing an unprecedented number of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) cases in children.
According to the CDC, between 58,000 to 80,000 children under five are hospitalized for RSV each year. Typically, the height of infection occurs from late December to mid-February.
With some hospitals near capacity at this early stage of the season, they are bracing for what is to come in terms of the number and severity of cases.
RSV can cause other, more serious, respiratory infections such as bronchiolitis and pneumonia requiring treatments such as oxygen therapy, non-invasive respiratory support, and intubation and ventilation.
MED Alliance Group has a comprehensive portfolio of efficient, innovative and cost-effective pediatric oxygen delivery devices. We offer a variety of solutions to accommodate multiple scenarios and individual patient needs to help clinicians provide the best patient outcomes.
Artemis Pedi-Fit NIV Nasal and Full-Face Masks
Specifically designed for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) patients, the Pedi-Fit enables healthcare providers to fit patients they haven’t been able to fit before. The soft, molded silicone material and flexible forehead ensure excellent seal and patient comfort during CPAP and VPAP therapy. Each design (Nasal and Full-Face Mask) is available in four sizes.
BiTrac ™ NIV disposable respiratory care masks have a silicone cushion with a double lip to allow masks to be placed on the patient’s face and still create an efficient and comfortable seal. Offered in two sizes and two configurations.
The SafeT T-Piece Resuscitator and SafeT T-Piece with Pop Off allow clinicians to deliver continuous oxygen flow while providing consistent PIP and PEEP pressures to ensure safer neonatal resuscitation and CPAP.
The divided nasal sampling cannula provides true EtCO2 sampling and effective O2 delivery without limitations at higher lpm rates. The innovative, divided design allows for the separation of gases and for Salter Eyes to continue maintaining sampling, even during a cannula occlusion. The soft, pliable headset tubing curves gently around the cheeks and ears. Available in pediatric and infant sizes.
The advanced, silicone Air-Q3 has a unique ET tube ramp and epiglottis elevator to aid in fast, easy and safe intubations. Available in four styles, even for the smallest of patients weighing at least 2.0kg.
MRI compatible, up to 3 Tesla, the Ventway Sparrow MRI has advanced capabilities to match all in-hospital transport scenarios. The ventilator can be used for patients weighing more than 11 pounds. Ventilation modes include SIMV-VC-PS, SIMV-PC and CPAP. FDA approval is pending for the HFNC and CPR modes.
