The AERIS Airway™: The First Advanced Sedation Airway Platform
Transforming Standard OPAs and NPAs Into an Integrated Oxygen Delivery and Capnography Solution for Deep IV Sedation
For years, anesthesia providers have managed deep IV sedation with traditional oxygen-delivery devices such as nasal cannulas and face masks, while reserving oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airways (OPAs and NPAs) as rescue adjuncts when obstruction occurs. This reactive approach leaves a critical gap in the airway continuum between simple supplemental oxygen and advanced airway interventions.
The AERIS Airway™ closes that gap by introducing a new category: the Advanced Sedation Airway Platform. When paired with standard OPAs or NPAs, the AERIS transforms these familiar rescue adjuncts into a proactive solution that simultaneously:
- stents and maintains a patent airway,
- delivers high-FiO2 supraglottic oxygen, and
- provides continuous, reliable end-tidal CO2 (ETCO2) monitoring.
The future of deep IV sedation means unlocking the full potential of OPAs and NPAs. By transforming these familiar airway adjuncts into an integrated oxygen-delivery and ventilation-monitoring platform, AERIS bridges the critical gap in the airway continuum and enables a safer, more proactive approach to sedation airway management.
The AERIS Airway: A New Step in the Airway Continuum
The AERIS Airway is positioned between nasal cannulas and face masks at one end of the airway continuum and laryngeal mask airways (LMAs) and endotracheal tubes (ETTs) at the other. This addresses the long‑overlooked gap where many deep IV sedation patients begin to develop airway obstruction, hypoventilation, or hypoxemia, but do not yet require a more invasive airway.
Anesthesia providers simply insert AERIS into the standard OPA or NPA they already use, and without changing the workflow, those familiar rescue devices become an Advanced Sedation Airway Platform.

When Used During Deep IV Sedation, Key Features & Benefits of the AERIS Airway Include:
- Simultaneously delivers oxygen and captures reliable ETCO₂ data in real time.
- Delivers up to 80% FiO₂ at 2–4 L/min and up to 100% at 6–10 L/min.
- Promotes efficient oxygenation while reducing overall oxygen flow requirements.
