Getting Started with the ButterflyBVM™ Is As Easy As 1-2-3-4
Take the Guesswork Out of Every Breath
The ButterflyBVM™ from Compact Medical is the world’s first three-in-one bag-valve-mask (BVM) designed to solve the problem of hyperventilation during BVM resuscitation.
A single-use device, the ButterflyBVM has an internal O2 reservoir that provides built-in rate control. It also features an adjustable tidal volume that can be set according to the patient’s size and a PIP dial to give caregivers unprecedented control over the pressures they deliver to patients without the need for a manometer.
The ButterflyBVM design allows clinicians to quickly set safe parameters for infants, children, and adults, reducing variability and risk during high-stress scenarios.
In addition to being easy to use with its intuitive design and adjustable settings, studies have shown the ButterflyBVM significantly improves ventilation accuracy and safety compared to traditional BVMs. Follow these four steps to get started.

Determine your patient’s size using Broselow/Handtevy for pediatrics; small, medium or large adult for adults.

Set tidal volume by squeezing the side arms while turning the dial to the correct setting.

Remove the PIP cover and release the side arms (leave at 40 unless otherwise indicated).

Attach the correct size mask and ventilate.
