SWIK® is a continuous, hands-free solution for managing oral secretions. The single-use device is designed to help patients with dysphagia by removing secretions before they become problematic. The device features a soft, wicking foam mouthpiece and its connected tubing that work with a portable or wall-mounted negative pressure pump to continuously remove secretions for up to 12 hours before requiring replacement.

The founder of SWIK Medical Solutions, Rebecca Altounian, invented the device after identifying a gap in care during her own illness. SWIK is suitable for a wide range of patients, including intubated and ventilated, post-stroke, trauma and neurology patients.

Uncontrolled oral secretions often lead to infections and other non-reimbursable complications. Managing oral secretions is a time-consuming task for caregivers. SWIK was developed to address these issues, save nursing time and improve patient outcomes.
