Properly Fit Large or Obese Patients With the The Hans Rudolph V2™ NIV Full-Face Mask
Respiratory therapists understand the importance of properly fitting their patients with the most suitable noninvasive mask. Patients who are obese or have larger features can be more challenging to fit, affecting comfort, therapy effectiveness and potentially leading to complications.
Obese patients may have wider faces with excess facial and neck fat that can make achieving a secure and leak-free seal with standard-sized NIV masks difficult. To secure the mask, clinicians may tighten the mask straps, which increases pressure on the face and can lead to a greater risk of pressure injuries. When comfort and fit are imperative for NIV success, many noninvasive masks on the market can not accommodate these patients.
Hans Rudolph V2™: The Largest NIV Mask in the World
The Hans Rudolph V2™ NIV Full-Face Masks are available in five sizes, from petite to large, to accommodate more patients. The V2 sizes are larger than those of competitors. For example, the petite size is comparable to a competitor’s small, while a V2 small is equivalent to a competitor’s medium. The V2 large is the largest mask available in the world, ensuring that clinicians can properly fit larger patients for NIV success. Refer to the graphic for the dimensions for the large V2 masks. (For dimensions of the other V2 model sizes, contact us.)
The V2 masks feature an anatomically contoured design, versatile configurations, and provide exceptional comfort for a wider range of adult patients. Made from a single piece of Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), these masks eliminate the need for a hard frame, which helps to reduce pressure points and the risk of skin irritation. The patented chin cup ensures the mask stays secure while minimizing the chance of leaks. Additionally, the lightweight four-strap headgear with quick-release mechanisms makes for easy adjustments and removal.
Configurations that Fit Clinicians’ Needs
The V2 NIV masks offer multiple configurations and vent-specific swivels to simplify selection for clinicians and ensure compatibility whether working with CPAP, BiLevel, or critical care ventilators.
- 6500 V2: Non-vented for double-limb circuits
- 6600 V2: CPAP/BiLevel with an anti-asphyxia valve and micro-venting
- 6700 V2: BiLevel with an anti-asphyxia valve and dual swivel port
The Hans Rudolph V2 masks deliver more than just a mask, they bring peace of mind, clinical flexibility, and a comfortable NIV experience for a wider range of patients.
