About the HORSESHOE™

Currently, clinicians use tape or intrusive fasteners to secure a patient’s life-sustaining breathing tubes. These inadequate and outdated solutions can result in tube dislodgement, restricted access to oral care and device-related pressure injuries. Inadequate endotracheal tube securement may lead to serious complications like cardiac arrest, brain damage, ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), and facial injuries.

The HORSESHOE airway security device is designed to reduce the risks of unplanned extubations and tube dislodgements by leveraging jaw biomechanics for stabilization and locking the ET tube securely in place with both a primary and secondary clamping mechanism. The device can be paired with a supplemental strap to prevent accidental removal during patient movement.

With a unique off-the-face horseshoe shape, the HORSESHOE helps to reduce facial pressure injuries, enhance patient comfort and facilitate oral care without compromising airway security.
